So it turns out AT&T suspended my cellphone 3 DAYS before the bill was actually due! This is the second time this has happened in the past 6 months, despite the fact that I've been a "valued customer" (Uh huh...) with them since 2003 when they were still Cingular. Needless to say, I'M OVER IT!
As far as I'm concerned AT&T has been gouging me for years! $188/mo. for two phones (and that's on a Grandfather Plan with 800 Anytime Minutes and 5000 Rollover Minutes), $30/mo. for Unlimited 3G for my phone alone, $15/mo. for my Mom's mobile internet, and NO TEXT MESSAGING or phone insurance because we just can't afford it!
Enter my new Samsung Admire from Metro PCS...
GOOD NEWS: Only $103/mo. for two phones, UNLIMITED voice, text, and web PLUS Metro411, Metro Block-It, Metro Navigator, Visual Voicemail, Global texts, and phone insurance! That's a savings of $85/month!!!! Now we're talking!
BAD NEWS: I couldn’t keep my old phone number. AT&T wouldn’t let Metro port it for some odd reason.
Obviously, the positives (+) for Metro far outweigh the one negative (-) of losing my old phone number. Goodbye and good riddance, AT&T! Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya on the way out!
