WRITING WAFFLES: Tea and Tranquilizers
I went to bed at 4 AM and I've been sitting in front of my keyboard since 7 AM... I can't believe I'm up this early writing after I stayed up half the night writing. This madness has got to stop! Pretty soon, I'll need to start taking tranquilizers with my morning tea and shackle myself to the bed just to make sure I get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. *Yawning* See? I'm so tired I'm leaking!
The problem with being a writer is that my mind never shuts off so I really don't get a mental vacation. Even when I'm not writing, I'm plotting, fleshing out characters, doing research, or thinking of more ways to market the novel once it's released.
Not that I'm complaining. I really love my characters and the fantastic world they live in. I'm also fully aware that I'm the only person (really) that can tell the rest of you their tales... I'm just feeling a little burnt out right now, that's all.
I think I'm going to take a short break after I finish writing Chapter 13 and just decompress for a week or so. Force my brain to take a breather so that I can come at this project again with a fresh perspective.
Of course, that means I need to finish writing Chapter 10 first. Funny how Chapter 10 is holding up the rest of the story.
Well, it is and it isn't... Meaning: it hasn't stopped me from writing Chapter 11 or 12, but I'd really like to wrap it up and put a big red ribbon on it before I start writing Chapter 13. Then it'll be Chapter 13 or bust! Which is a goal I can definitely work with, 13 being my lucky number and all. ;)
XOXO
