Bitchwich: Humanity, Are We A Virus?

Grrr...I really hate when people describe humankind as a virus or cancerous growth that needs to be purged from this planet.

It's so easy to negate all the good things human beings do on a daily basis and villainize us a species but what does that prove? What does it solve? Nothing. All it does is dramatize and demoralize.

I, for one, am proud to be human. I feel we have as many strengths as we do weaknesses.

Humanity is capable of great evil, yes, but we are also capable of great vision, beauty, love and compassion. I have yet to meet a tumor that can say the same thing.

Musicmania: Elvis, Christmas with the King!

*Le happy sigh* It just isn't Christmas without Elvis, is it?

In fact, I can't ever remember spending a Christmas without singing along to "Here Comes Santa Claus" or "I'll Be Home For Christmas" whenever they came on the radio.

Christmas without the King? It simply isn't done!

I thought I'd pay tribute to the Man From Memphis by posting links to some of my favorite Christmas songs he's sung.

(NOTE: You will need the Spotify app on your smartphone or desktop in order to listen to these!)
And even though these are not technically a Christmas songs, they still may strike a chord with some of you around the Holidays:
Enjoy! xoxo

Love lots,
Miss Mia

Recap: American Horror Story 1x10 - Smoldering Children

Wow. This episode just blew my mind. I look back now and realize I should've been able to figure it out myself way ahead of time but the whole "reveal" with Tate was just so good I'm glad I didn't.

The Boob Tube: American Horror Story's Female Fanaticism

I love American Horror Story! I've seen every episode so far this season and I hope it gets renewed for years to come. That said...

Why are most of the female characters so highly sexualized? Either they're focused on vanity, sex, men, or babies. Why don't they feel the need to achieve? To further their careers or explore their spirituality? Hell, I can't even name one hobby any of them have. Can you?
